ReleaseLicenseHttp from client machine

I'm trying to implement support for releasing a license in an OS X application. When I call [qlmserver]/ReleaseLicenseHttp I get a message:
Authentication failure. User: , Pwd: ***

If I add valid is_vendor and is_user params to the URL then the request works properly. However, I do not want include those params in my Application and I don't want to send them over the wire. Is there a way to call ReleaseLicenseHttp without using those parameters?

Here are my current server properties that seem to be related:
maxReleaseCount: -1
maxReleasePerClient: unchecked
maxReleasePeriodInDays: 30
releaseLicenseUseAdminEncryptionKey: unchecked
enableReleaseKeyHttp: checked

  This is not currently supported. We will add it to our next QLM v8 minor update planned for next week.
