Computer bound license vs. Docker
Hi
So, we currently have implemented a product that uses QLM for licensing of the product.
Originally we have been using the ComputerID to make the license computer bound for an installtion of our product.
However we are now about to change the way we install our product, so it is installed within a Docker container instead.
And the problem is that when we make new releases of our product, we get a new Docker image with a new ComputerID for the specific docker image.
Do you have any experience or information on how to make licenses computer bound, when the licensed product is running in a container with dynamic ComputerId such as Docker?
I know this is a very specific case, and might not be something you have heard of before. And we are looking into various sollutions, and just wanted to check with you guys if you have any info or experience to guide us in making the best decision on which direction to take.
Any information would be greatly apprieciated.
Best regards
Christian Franzen

Unfortunately, we do not have any experience with Docker containers. You would need to determine if each Docker container has a unique ID and use that ID as a fingerprint for the license.
