what is QlmLicense::ApplicationVersion about?

When QlmLicense validates a license key, my understanding is that it compares the version info (major & minor) embedded in the license key against the version specified in the settings file (lw.xml file loaded into QlmLicense).

 

Is this correct? If yes then what is the member attribute ApplicationVersion all about?

  ApplicationVersion is used by the "Check for Updates" feature. The ApplicationVersion is compared against the "Latest Version" that you define in the QLM Management Console / Define Products / Latest Version. If the Application Version < Latest Version, the QLM License Wizard allows the user to download/install the latest version.
